How is my data used?

The data protection policies of the event organizer apply.

Global Event Technologies GmbH & Co KG (“GET”) processes data on behalf of the event organizers. The organizers are responsible for data processing under the GDPR, and GET acts as a data processor that is not allowed to use the data for its own purposes but only works according to the organizer’s instructions. The organizers are subject to various legal obligations to retain data, especially for business transactions, so that they can be reviewed by the relevant authorities (usually in the case of tax audits). Additionally, data is used for statistical analyses, but only in anonymized form, so that no personal reference can be made. This helps, for example, to optimize event planning for the following year.

The various technical and organizational measures to protect data - including logical separation between different events - are continuously updated to state-of-the-art standards. These measures are contractually agreed between the organizer and GET and can be audited and reviewed by the organizer as the data controller. Please understand that due to ongoing technical developments and to protect its own trade secrets, GET does not disclose detailed information about the implementation of specific measures.

Regarding the theoretical possibility of linking data, it should be noted that GET, as a data processor, is only authorized to process data on behalf of the organizer. Any violation of this rule would not only breach the contract with the organizer - entailing high claims for damages and the risk of fines by supervisory authorities - but would also make GET itself a data controller under Article 28 (10) GDPR. This would require a valid legal basis for processing and compliance with all GDPR obligations applicable to controllers.
